Your probably aware of this one as i;ve been through it once but goes like this. this guy has clients looking for cars & will buy my Z-28 for $$$ asked for. He;s sent me a cheque to include shipping by his company, the cheque wa made out for 2K to much as shipping turned out to be less than he thought, so could i send the difference to his shipping company & then they will come pick up the car. The cheque was certified & looked totally legit, i made my bank aware of my hesitation to send him the difference, the bank said no worries as the cheque was certified. I didn;t send him the 2K difference & he got quite nasty, eluding to lawsuits, etc. Well, wouldn;t you know my bank called within 7 days to tell me the certified cheque was one of the best counterfeit certified cheques they;ve ever seen. Now, i;ve got some fraud squad caling me for details

Bank tried to charge me "handling fees" but the teller i originaly spoke to, & told i thought the certified cheque was bogus, had then waived. The bank said they had never seen a phony certified cheque before!

So the whole deal with this scam and the Nigerian deals is to get that $2000 and has nothing to do with any cars for sale?

They sent me a cheque for a car i had advertised, the cheque was more thasn the asking price (2k more). they asked me to send the 2K back & they were on the way to pick up the Camaro. the certified cheque they sent me, although the bank said it as good, turned out to be a perfect forgery. a wise cashier at my bank took the time to call the Bank of america just to verify the certified cheque & thats how we found out it was bogus.
