I need good longtube header for a 514 that I am going to be installing in my 69 fairlane. does anyone know of any long tube headers that will fit into this engine bay with little to no modifications?

Thanks

Fairlaner,

If you haven't received one - Welcome to M&M!

What block are you using for the 514? Any mods to the shock towers? Power steering? Whose heads?

When you get ready to put the motor back in, be sure to have the headers wired in place to ease the installation - much easier than my put the motor in and then ask how to get the headers in place.

Thanks for the welcome!!

It is a stock blcok not sure of the casting number right now, the heads are ported C1VE, there is no power steering and no modifications to the shock tower.

I've got some fairly inexpensive FlowTech long tube headers on '69 Mach I with 351W, stock heads, power steering and AOD transmission. Fit real nice on passenger side, real tight on drivers.

Got to take the power cylinder bracket for the PS power cylinder off and grind the tab down that fits inside the frame. Bracket for AOD to fit will make it tight for the muffler shop to weld on the exhaust system.

Haven't fired it yet, but gettin' close.

I had stuffed the motor in without putting headers in engine bay. Had to jack the car up off the ground all around and stuff them in from the bottom. If it hadn't been for the folks here on the site, I would have torn the whole front end off trying to get them in. A special tip of the had to John Shea of New Foundland.
