Hi all,

Great site. I am a first timer here and hope to be a regular.

I would like some help and suggestions about selecting a camshaft for my 1972 XA GT faclon Coupe. It will be mainly a street car, with an occasional blast down the strip. I plan to run a hydraulic cam, with a power band of 3000 to 6000. I am aiming to achieve 380 to 400 HP, without sacrificing too much torque. The engine is as follows:

351 Cleveland, standard stroke,
4v Closed chamber heads, 11.1:1 Comp,
Edelbrock dual plane performer manifold, with a 2 inch spacer,
Holley 780n squarebore
4 into 1 headers, with a twin three inch exhaust,
4 spd toploader,
nine inch with 3.5:1 gears.

A proven cam would be much appreciated, for the above or similar combination.

Cheers Spaz

Spaz,

Welcome to M&M. Not sure who the 351C experts are, but they'll be along and give you some good advice.

Be sure to match cam, heads and intake to get the best of the beast.

Was talking with a friend today about the Aussie 351Cs. Seems as though your folks have done some very good work with them and make really good power.

Again,Welcome!

Yeah, thanks mate. Cant wait for some input.
I just want to make sure I choose the right one for my beast.

Were getting some big horsepower with strokers and CHI alloy heads.

Cheers

Welcome!

I think with your combo you couldn't go wrong with something like a Comp Cam 270H. It would give you great manners and the honk you need when required.
