I have always loved the 70-71 Tornio GT and Cobras... I have been looking for solid car to restore.

Well I fouind one locally at the local swap meet, I knew this guy had some cool Mid size Fords and Merc, you would not believe the stuff he has stashed away needing good homes...

I bought a 70 Tornio GT 351 4V, auto, A/C, PS, PB, Buckets, floor shifter with consul..... It is Shaker car, hide away head lights, blue with white interior and laser stripe....

It needs alot, it is missing the engine but I have 72 351 CJ needing new home, needs quarters, repaint, re do the interior and bunch of cleaning....

But I now have it and it is in line for a restore after the 67 Fastback is finished....

Sounds like a sweet project car, Jimmy Ray!

Can you get a Marti Report on that baby? I wonder how many were produced with that combination of options......

Be sure to take some pics of it and get them posted heere once you get it home...then, of course, more pics as you progress with it's "resurrection"....

Good Luck!
Ryan

Very cool! I have to agree, the '70-'71 has to be one of the most beautiful cars of all time. Good luck and keep us updated.

I was messing with a little today during the breaks in the rain.... Checking out the door data decal and such.....

Poor thing will have to wait while, I have too many projects right now;

-Friends 66 GT350H Clone in the barn getting it running (he bought it about 10 years ago and then parked it due to working in the middle east)..... But the building they had it in wasn't the best) Beautiful car I just need to get it started and driving...

-Then I have to finish the 67 Fastback

-Finish some stuff on my 93 Gt convertible before I can get started on this baby.....

I like it so much it might get moved ahead of the others

I got the Marti Deluxe report on this car today and according to it, my car is one of 355 with this paint/trim codes on Torino GT sportsroof.....

The report is too cool, I also ordered the remade door tag since mine is almost invisable.....

That's too cool, Jimmy Ray!
Now if you knew someone in the Federal DMV records office,,,, it would be cool to know how many of the 355 are still being annually licensed for the open road! Maybe these guys could be of assistance to ya!
